pain!!

how painful would it be if some onez screwing a big size needle very hard in to your bone without anaesthesia?? u would probably scream your
lungs out ? everybody would!
but i was told to calm down a kid who was undergoing this very painful bone marrow infusion
!! it was indeed a herculean task to hold the kid
gosh! then i felt
why is something beneficial so painful like hell!
such a pain in the neck..med school sometimes!! :( ;)

    I can sympathize. My mother was pregnant with my bro and her hemoglobin was down so they had to put in one of those thick needles into her sternum, i think it’s called. And she was crying for hours after from the horror she’d felt during ….

    And for a kid , i’m sure it would have been much worse !! Truly admire those who go into medicine. Empathy is a useful tool, but it would be heart wrenching to see a kid crying …

    Umm in this day and age dont they use things like epidural to numb before such treatments???

    actually PAIN plays a very important role here
    lemme tell u the point!!
    in a marrow infusion,u wud only know that the needle got into the bone when it PAINS!! so to make sure this no anaesthesia is used!!
