Siesta!!
I doubt how I fell asleep on the floor
In the hours of daylight!!!!
I guess the idiot box had some serious
Sedating effect on my sleeping abilities
Coz I’ve never been a morning sleeper
But this time it kinda jazzed me up after
Waking up owing to my insomniac qualities
Felt like I missed a major part of the evening
Including the every day pani-puri
My mommy darling was dead set against waking me up coz
She found peace n harmony in the house sans me!
Poor mother!but the dozzing off chipped in more
joie de vivre for the rest of the darkness!!
Come on letz rule the silences!!!
p.s: yea powernap!!! ![]()
p.p.s: I dozzed off watching some stupid si cinemah which starred very young saif ..lol
Egg or Chicken???Which one dropped in first???
ARISTOTLE (384-322 BC) was puzzled by the idea that there could be a first bird or egg and concluded that both the bird and egg must have always existed:
“If there has been a first man he must have been born without father or mother – who is repugnant to nature. For there could not have been a first egg to give a beginning to birds, or there should have been a first bird which gave a beginning to eggs; for a bird comes from an egg.” The same he held good for all species, believing, with Plato, that everything before it appeared on earth had first its being in spirit.”
If: The question didn’t specify that the egg had to be a chicken egg
Then we could easily say that the egg came first, because fish had been laying eggs long before chickens were around If one assumes the egg to be a chicken egg then one must define what a chicken egg is:
If: A chicken egg will hatch a chicken,
Then a bypass is allowed: An animal that was not a chicken laid the chicken egg, which contained the first chicken. In this case the egg came first.
If: A chicken egg is the egg that a chicken lays Then a bypass is allowed: A chicken (that hatched from a non-chicken egg) laid an egg (a chicken egg).
Hehehe enough of the insane humbug here.
The other way round:One can also argue that neither came first, since the chicken is the egg and the egg is the chicken. Paradoxically this argument also proves that indeed both came first.
Now, as far as my bio text is concerned I’ll put the scientific justification according to me here..
Vertebral amphibians laid the first eggs. Their ancestors used to lay eggs or ova in clusters. Those eggs did not resemble the actual ones, so initially the typical organisms evolved and they reproduced through other processes. It is from them the egg laying amphibians and the birds evolved. So, it is the organisms that developed primarily and then the egg laying ones.
The above justification could be more precise with this paradigm.
There’s an uncertainty whether it is seed or the plant, which came first. In the plant kingdom, there are many seedless plants from the algae to pteridophytes. They reproduce with the help of spores. Flowering plants like gymnosperms and angiosperms only contain seeds. So, initially typical plants developed and then the seed bearing plants.
Retrospect:To some people, the analysis given above may seem silly. Does it teach us something, except that we can somehow answer the chicken-or-egg question? Well, perhaps we can conclude a few other things. Some questions become easier when we try to analyze them precisely, but then the answer appears to depend on viewpoints on other issues. Even then, the answer given by the analysis may be wrong, when the viewpoint is wrong.
